Live trees make excellent corner supports. If the tree has future potential value, it can be protected with 2" x 4" dimensional lumber or similar material. The 2" x 4"s are secured to the tree with galvanized nails. More than one 2" x 4" may be required on corner trees or on trees of large diameter to prevent the wire from touching the tree (wire that is left in contact with the tree's bark is likely to become incorporated into the tree as the tree grows).
